Helen is the founder of East Yorkshire Hydrotherapy, she has a varied work background including driving instructor, but has worked with dogs since a very early age. Helen & her husband Tim ran kennels for over 10 years and it was during this time that they built and opened the Hydrotherapy Centre in 2010, which they continue to own and run.  Helen is qualified to CHA standards, but more importantly has over 9 yrs years practical experience and a great track record. She has a natural way and empathy with dogs and the dogs recognise this genuine love for them and respond accordingly.

Partner & Business Manager

Although Tim has an Electrical Engineering background, he has worked with dogs for many years. Tim originally worked as a Senior Manager in a major multi-national company where he gained his business & managerial experience. Tim does all the non-therapy aspects of the business.

Manager and Small Animal Hydrotherapist

Averilla joined us in 2014 she had her practical training with Helen and her Formal training at Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy Training Centre. Averilla is also seriously involved with Chows, being the Chairperson of the North Eastern Chow Chow club Averilla has been showing Chows since a little girl and is now a judge for the breed.

Charlotte joined us in 2016 she had her practical training with Helen and her Formal training at Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy Training Centre. Charlotte has always had a passion for animals ever since she started working at a kennels at the age of 13, this led her to take a diploma in animal welfare and management and then went on to complete a degree in animal behaviour and training.

Small Animal Hydrotherapist in Training

Jayne joined us in January 2019 she had her practical training with us and her Formal training is at Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy Training Centre in March 2019. Jayne worked as an outdoor Pursuit Instructor before becoming a teacher for 20 years, she then worked in the NHS Pharmaceuticals Division. Jayne has owned and worked with dogs for many years and has been active in  'rescue'.

Lucy carried out work experience with us during her Level 3 Animal Management & Behaviour course at Bishop Burton, she then joined us part time as part of the team. Lucy has now gone on to take a University Foundation degree in Animal Management & Behaviour but continues to work with us part time.

Mary has worked with us for many years, initially when she was a lecturer at Bishop Burton, then during her training as a Veterinary Physiotherapist. We are now pleased to work with her in the rehabilitation of our clinical cases.
