Hydrotherapy Pool

East Yorkshire Hydrotherapy Hydro PoolEast Yorkshire Hydrotherapy Hydro Pool

  • The pool is completely non-weight baring exercise therefore relieving pressure on the joints which reduces pain and encourages movement.
  • Helps to build core strength
  • Helps to improve cardiovascular fitness
  • Improves circulation of blood to muscles
  • Increases tissue healing
  • Flexion of the joints is greater when swimming than walking in the water which encourages the use of otherwise often neglected muscle groups.
  • Some patients with spinal or neurological conditions are able to swim before they can walk so this enables some strength to be regained before then using the treadmill for gait and limb re-education.
  • A Hydrotherapist is always in the pool encouraging movement and giving support.
  • Increases mental stimulation and wellbeing
